Extension - Netim support

# Restrictions

Owner:
The registrant must demonstrate a connection with Ireland (being Irish or an Irish company, owning a trademark valid in Ireland, having Irish customers or suppliers, having a service or product or website dedicated to the Irish people, and so on.)

If the holder already owns a .IE domain name, there is no need to prove their connection with Ireland or their identity again (Only if the Owner's data are identical).

Administrative Contact :

In order to register an .IE domain name, the administrative contact must be an individual who will act as the designated representative of the registrant.

# Procedures

# Registration

The registration of an .IE domain name is subject to a special process: all applicants must demonstrate a real and substantive connection with Ireland.

In order to prove your connection with Ireland, you will have to provide ONE of the information or document following, depending on your status.

Legal entity in Ireland:

  • CRO / RBN number

  • VAT number

  • Tax clearance certificate from Ireland's Revenue Commissioners

  • Irish / European Community Trademark number

  • WIPO trademark number

  • Registered Charity number

  • College / School roll number

  • Correspondence from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)

Legal entity outside Ireland:

  • Sales invoices showing that the domain holder sells goods or services in the island of Ireland

  • Irish Trademark certificate

  • EU Community Trademark certificate (if enforceable in Ireland)

  • WIPO Trademark certificate (if enforceable in Ireland)

  • Signed letter from a third-party solicitor, accountant, bank manager or auditor, confirming that the domain holder is selling goods or services in the island of Ireland

Irish Individual

  • Irish Passport

  • Irish driving license / UK driving license (showing an address in Ireland)

  • Irish / Northern Irish bank statement (showing an address in Ireland)

  • Official College ID

  • Department of Social Protection issued Public Services Card

  • Correspondence from Ireland's Revenue Commissioners (showing your PPS number)

Moreover, thanks to the FASTPASS system, if the holder already owns a .IE domain name, there is no need to prove their connection with Ireland or their identity again.

# Transfer

In order to transfer your domain name to Netim, you must disable transfer protections and obtain the authorisation code from your current Registrar.

The transfer may take several days.

When the transfer is finalised, a year is added to the expiry date of the domain name.

# Trade

To change the holder, you must first go through an authentication process.
To that end, validation emails will be sent to both current and future domain holders.

After a period of 5 days, the request will be cancelled.

The domain expiration date is not affected by the transfer process.
